Privacy Policy
This page explains how ThriftFind handles personal information, cookies, analytics, and advertising in a clear and user-friendly way.
Effective date: 1/21/2026. This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect when you use ThriftFind, why we collect it, and how you can control it. We aim to collect only what we need to operate the service, keep it secure, and improve the experience.
Information we collect
When you create an account, we may collect information like your name, email address, and profile image (depending on your sign-in method). If you choose to list items or verify your phone, we may also process optional details such as phone number and location labels. We also collect standard technical data such as device type, browser, and approximate location inferred from IP address for security and fraud prevention.
How we use information
We use information to provide core features (sign-in, listings, messaging/contact links), to protect users (anti-abuse and moderation), and to improve performance and usability. We do not sell personal information. We may use aggregated analytics to understand what pages are helpful and which features need improvement.
Cookies, analytics, and similar technologies
ThriftFind uses cookies and similar technologies for essential functions such as keeping you signed in, remembering preferences (like theme), and protecting against abuse. We may also use analytics tools to measure traffic and usage patterns. Analytics helps us improve speed, stability, and content quality. Where required by law, you should obtain consent before enabling non-essential cookies.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
We may display ads provided by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies or device identifiers to personalize ads, measure performance, and limit frequency. You can learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services in Google’s policy documentation. If you are located in the EEA/UK/Switzerland, you may have additional consent choices depending on your local rules.
Sharing and disclosure
We share information only when necessary to operate the service, comply with the law, enforce our policies, or protect users. For example, we may share limited data with infrastructure providers (hosting, analytics, spam prevention) and with Google for ad delivery if advertising is enabled. We require service providers to protect data and limit use to providing the service.
Your choices
You can update your profile information within your account pages. You can also control cookies through your browser settings, and you may be able to opt out of some forms of ad personalization through Google’s ad settings. If you have a privacy request, contact us via the contact page.
Data retention and security
We retain information only as long as needed for legitimate business purposes, legal requirements, and safety. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Policy updates
We may update this policy to reflect product changes or legal requirements. If changes are significant, we will provide a notice on the site. Please also review our Terms of Service for rules on using the platform.
